Our Goals for

Indigenous Engagement

Our office is located on Treaty 6 territory and the homeland of the Métis Nation. In the spirit of reconciliation, we recognize the traditional Indigenous territories within which we are located.

Furthermore, Engcomp recognizes the importance of Indigenous engagement and education in our business and our industry.

STC Legacy Partnership signed at Muskeg Lake Cree Nation

On October 11, 2018, Engcomp formally signed a Legacy Partnership with the Saskatoon Tribal Council (STC). At the Spring Treaty Assembly at Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, this partnership was signed, along with the reaffirmation of six other Legacy Partnerships.

As an active participant in the Indigenous Engagement community, we have made the following commitments:

  1. Our Indigenous Engagement Strategy will be meaningful to both our business and our Indigenous community. We will not be satisfied with simply “checking boxes” and meeting minimum requirements.

  2. We will work in partnership with local Indigenous groups to develop projects and pledge to continue to look for mutually beneficial opportunities.

  3. We will provide a place of work that respects all cultures and beliefs, including an opportunity for our team to self identify as Indigenous.

  4. We will utilize available Indigenous resource pools and databases in our hiring process.

  5. We will ensure that our team has appropriate Indigenous awareness training and continuing education opportunities.

  6. We will meet regularly with others in our industry that are able to provide us with opportunity and guidance.

  7. We will participate in increasing the awareness of professional opportunities available to the Indigenous community through speaking and presentation opportunities within our education community and the local community.

  8. We will revisit our commitment on a regular basis to ensure that we are meeting our objectives and setting new goals.
